The giant Candelabra of Peace (5 meters height) of Salvador DALI was inaugurated on July 21, 1998, under the high patronage of the Prime Minister and in presence of various Ministers and in particular the Minister of Tourism and the Minister of Arts and Culture, as well as the representatives of the Israeli Institutions and the diplomats of many countries, the personalities of the worlds of Arts, Sciences and caritatives associations militant for Peace in the World.

It is front to the steps of the arrival "WELCOME TO ISRAEL" of the BEN GOURION airport that Mister the Minister of Tourism Moshe KATSAV wished that this highly symbolic Candelabra of Peace be set up.







This Menorah, symbol of Light and Peace, will light the whole world. Any person arriving to Israel will be then impregnated by its force and its message of universal peace. This inauguration which as been highly mediatized throughout the World, thus opened the festivities of the fiftieth anniversary of the Hebrew's state creation: the Israel 50 Jubilee. It is what undoubtedly Salvador DALI had appreciated, taking as account its admiration for the people of Israel.
